Circular Economy is a paradigm shift fromthe traditional “linear” and wasteful approach of resource management. Recently, RCR published a virtual special issue (VSI) on Circular Economy whichhighlighted innovations in resource management, industrial challenges &opportunities, regional experiences and analysis on benefits/trade-offs ofimplementing the circular economy approach. In this special issue, RCR seekscontributions on “Advances in the Circular Economy”, specifically, guesteditors encourage submissions of original research articles that reportsignificant research contributions, industrial case studies, and reviewarticles covering topics including, but not limited to:
1) Methodological advances.
2) Business models and market dynamics inthe circular economy.
3) Social aspects of circular economy.
4) Transition to circular economy.
5) Case studies.
6) Geographical variability & challengesin sustainable material world.
This call has been distributed to theCircular Economy theme of the 2018 International Symposium on Sustainable Systems and Technology (ISSST 2018). ISSST 2018 is the longest run interdisciplinary conference focused on sustainability science and engineering,in its 25th year of running. The VSI will feature the best papers from ISSST2018 but also strongly encourage non-ISSST submissions.
A VSI is an online-only grouping of Special Issue articles traditionally assigned to a single Special Issue. Each articlein a VSI is assigned a unique identifier and then published in a regular journal issue as soon as available. The unique identifier allows us to simultaneously add the article to a VSI on ScienceDirect which is gradually built up as individual articles are published online. Articles grouped togetherin a VSI retain their original citation details. A VSI speeds up the publication of individual articles as, unlike the publication process for conventional Special Issue articles, a VSI does not need to wait for the finalarticle to be ready before publication.
A detailed submission guideline is available as “Guide for Authors” at: http://www.journals.elsevier.com/resources-conservation-and-recycling.All manuscripts and any supplementary material should be submitted through Elsevier Editorial System (http://ees.elsevier.com/recycl). The authors must select “SI: CE Advances” in the submission process.
